I went to martha clara today because I'm thinking about it for my engagement party. It is abosolutely beautiful!!! Has anyone been there before for a wedding or just a visit? What did you think? Please no reviews on food because I will be outsourcing from a caterer not affiliated with them. Thanks!

I love it there. I've been to quite a few affairs there and loved it everytime. Not to mention they make the best whites, I think!

I saw them too, the only thing that turned me off was they are multi event venue... and If I remeber correctly, you have to a few cases of their wine. Most vineyards wont let you serve outside wine. But some don't force you to buy theirs.
The lesser popular vineyards in the area are pretty cool too and will let you outsource caterers.
Just drive down the two main roads there, and stop in each one. Thats how we eventually picked our vineyard.

I've been to a few Christmas parties there and they've been great. I love how rustic it is. We also just checked out the Open Mic that they hold there every Tuesday too- it was cool.
Before you decide on Martha Clara, definately check out some other vineyards. I love Pellegrini for an outdoor party. Also Macari is pretty, and Pugliese too. We live right in the middle of 'wine country', so we're always all over the place.

I went to a wedding there and it was beautiful. They also used an outside caterer and just make sure that the caterer is good. their 's dropped the ball on the liquor license and they were unable to have an liquor only wine and beer. That had nothing to do with the Vineyard and they Vineyard was very helpful to the bride and groom with the whole planning.

The liquor lisence isnt a problem. We probably wont be serving anything at the engagement party other than wine and beer. We checked our macari also, which was pretty, but the deck is currently not big enough. They said that the deck should be completed (expanded) by the time of our even, but possibly not air conditioned yet, and that is just not an option for us (my grandmother is 87, my aunt is 91, just not happening haha). We also checked out pelligrini. They are just too expensive for the engagement party...and it would have to be outside in a tent. Anyone else have suggestions of any other vineyards to check out that you can outsource catering to??
Thanks so much ladies!

How about Raphael Vineyard? Not sure if you can outsource, but I do know that they host parties indoors, so the A/C shouldn't be a problem. I think they may be on the pricey side though.

i looked at like 10 vineyards and I think that Martha Clara and Bedell Cellars (in cutchogue) are my 2 favorite- and i think that all of them you have to out source a caterer. but both have such pretty grounds- martha Clara just has the extra ambience with all the animals- so cute-

You still need the liquor license for beer. They only have one for wine. They can get it for you but they make a big deal out of it.
