As a lawyer I see many flaws in the decision, which is published on the court's website. Tankleff's family has already made a publuc statement that they are sticking by him and continuing the fight. I usually do not think that a jury verdict should be overturned but in this case, he deserves a new trial.

And on an interview with a Court TV reporter, the detective who coerced Marty to confess (and had some shady dealings all along), today said, 'He had his day in court so the hell with him.'

wow that is terrible. Of course I dont know all the details, but it makes NO sense to not give him another chance to prove his innocence! I mean with all these people coming out of the woodwork, especially that guy claiming his dad admitted to doing it?

That is how I feel. That boy would not lie. At the very least, he should have had a new trial. It is disturbing that he isn't getting one.

I feel so bad for him. I, too, think he should be granted a new trial. Poor guy!

I really think he deserves a new trail- however a lot of people careers where made on putting him in Jail and they are looking to protect themselves
there are too many other people who wanted hi parents dead IMO-
meanwhile some rapper named C Murder- gets a new trail down in Lousiana- go figure

It seems that Tankleff and his lawyers sort of knew that this would get denied b/c the hearing was in Suffolk. So this was just the path they had to take to get to an appeal. They aren't giving up. I hope they get somewhere for him.
