Marymoon can I borrow your lizard to scare my mouse away?

Marymoon can I borrow your lizard to scare my mouse away?

I have a mouse in my apartment!
3rd floor - how did it get there? Pipes I guess.

It was ON MY SINK last night. Running from one side to the other behind the faucet. And I was just going in to turn the sink on to get some water. OMG!! I screamed like mad, ran like hell and jumped on the bed and wouldn't get off of it the rest of the night. It was brown/black and tiny and creepy!!!!

DH thought he saw one the other day but wasnt' sure. Got traps anyway but they are the crappy ones that never seem to work.

Anyone have suggestions for other traps? I don't care if it's 'mouse friendly' or kills the little sucker, I just want it caught!!!

GLUE TRAPS. we had a mouse a few weeks ago and i bought 6 glue traps and DH placed them in the corners of the room. a day later, the critter was caught.

i know that some my flame me for being so cruel and that glue traps are inhumane, but i will not tolerate rodents invading my home. i felt like a prisoner in my own house while that little critter was free to roam. i remained upstairs until i knew it was caught and disposed of. i literally ran down the stairs and straight out the front door when i had to leave. i even made DH bring food upstairs to me and i ate in bed for 2 days.

bugs and insects i can handle, but not rodents.

OMG! Too many critters! I DO have a cat you can borrow. The one time we had mice (people were doing construction across the street) he got them!

That is something I'd totally do!! All I can say is that I had just washed a sink of dishes 20 mins before I spotted it. Could you imagine if the mouse was in the sink while I was washing them???????

I will look!

I am wary of the glue traps because what if they unstick themselves? I may get flamed too but I just want the little thing dead. Maybe that's better than the glue traps (for the mouse) I think. I know I wouldn't want to be walking and find myself stuck on the pavement. Sorry

I am mouse phobic!!!

believe me, they will stick. FM if you want details on our capture.

Its EXTREMELY difficult to unstick yourself if accidentally touch the glue pad with a finger.

Truse me when I say... if the mouse hits it... he aint going nowhere.

Glue traps are really cruel.

At least call an exterminatior at some point to find out where the mice got in, so you can plug it up and you don't ahve to worry about ore mice getting in and having to kill more mice than necessary!

I am proud to say that my little reptilian friends all got out of the apt alive, and can be seen frolicking in the lawn!

Well I'm going to tell the landlord but that don't mean he'll get right on it and get an exterminator. And I'm not even going to bother telling the super, he's an a$$hole.

We got those ultrasonic devices that scare them away. I hope they work. Humans can't hear them so who knows if they work until we stop seeing mice!

Never had one where I lived. (thank god)

But ive seen a few here at my job and at my previous job.

EDIT: LOL I even saw one at Costco once... runnin across the aisles. They could probably use a few glue traps.

Im not really a 'glue' fan either, that just catches them but they are still alive. I used rat poisoning and put traps out and that got rid of them.

I ahve those sunbeam pest control things at Fh's apartment. I'm not sure how well it works. We still ha da lot of bugs and of course LIZARDS until the landlord caulked up the laundry room window.

My cat Gunnar loves them...and I'd LOVE to send him away for a bit......

Just to warn you though...he can never eat a whole mouse...always stops eating about halfway through and then leaves the rest for us to see!

OMG do I have to spell it out for you?

You said that the glue pads will stick like hell if you touch them...so I said 'do you know this from personal experience?' As in did you know they stick like hell because you touched one one day???

Forget it now...the joke has lost it's oomph!

Re: Marymoon can I borrow your lizard to scare my mouse away? update

The mouse got caught! At least I think it did, unless they are more. I don't know. And it was caught in my neighbor's apartment. So it could have been the same one, we don't know.

Anyhoo, I super-cleaned the kitchen today. I brought out the big guns - about 10 of those Mr. Clean Pads, a gallon of bleach, and a scrubber. I scrubbed everything I could with soapy bleach. I got to the top of my fridge....omg!! Tons of mice turd! EWWWWW!

I don't know why but it didn't occur to me to take the bread off the fridge when we noticed we had a mouse. It made a hole in it and burrowed into the bread!

After a few gag reflexes I was able to (with my bbq tongs though) throw out the bread. I was sooo grossed out. The mouse wasn't in there but still. Eek!

We bought these ultrasonic things too that (we think) work - we can't hear it but since the mouse wasn't in our apartment we figure they do. Let's hope!!! And screw DH - I don't care if he doesn't like 'cold' bread in the fridge - I ain't dealing with that again! LOL
