Since you are harry potter extrodinaire on this site I thought I'd ask ..
My Harry Potter book is already received in Maspeth as of 1:42 p.m. ('Destination Scan' is what it says)
Do you think I'll receive it tomorrow, even though it doesn't come out until Saturday??????

no...its set up to arrive on the release date ... and chances are, they wont ship it to you on saturday (more $$$) prehaps it will be at your local fedex center so you can pick it up.

DH works as a mangaer of B&N and anyone who even OPENS the boxes b4 the release date will get fired!

If you do get it before sturday it would be a complete fluke and a big security breach. I guess the reaosn they're sending it early is to make sure everyone gets it on saturday b/c a lot of places have a guarantee that if you don't get it saturday it's free!
ETA: Even if I got mine early, I'd still wait until 12:01 to read it. They set it up this way so all of the kids of the world could be reading it at the same time. I pre ordered it though, so I'll be a few hours behind

But the ones that are shipped are already opened & individually packaged & sitting in various UPS loations? How do they keep UPS from delivering it?

Theyre not going to ship it early. If they do, they'll lose the contract on the pre orders for the next book, and it's a multi million dollar deal, even for delivering them! A lot fo teh stores who leaked copies of Book 5 are not allowed to sell Book 6.,

you will def get it on saturday, we preordered the last one and got it on the day it came out...it was so funny...all these adults in our apt building all opening their mail going 'yessssssssssssss' it was like a kiddie convention!

I've got a nice big fivsky for the mailman....it was either that or I hug and kiss him tomorrow afternoon. I figured he'd appreciate the cash more.

Does anyone know if they have to be hand delivered? Last time it came out the mailman had to ring the bell and hand it to someone, they weren't allowed to leave it outside.
