Even as you enter this unique salon, you know you are in for a comforting experience. Built in the late 18880's, this charming gingerbread house is now home to a state of the art salon. Owner Debbie Schade is passionate in her mission to provide the latest services to her clients in an environment of comfort and beauty, and no detail escapes her attention. Although I had often enjoyed the services offered on the first floor, (hair salon, tea room, and boutique), I had not visited the upstairs where the treatment rooms and nail salon are located. ( However, I did once have a manicure on their outside porch draped in wisteria!) When salon manager Susan Kerr brought me upstairs, it was all I could do to continue our business conversation and not throw myself on one of their massage tables for some winter pampering. Special Effects has special bridal packages and can accommodate your entire wedding party. Even before the main event, it is a perfect spot to alleviate stress, bond with a friend, have some 'one on one time 'between mother and daughter, or just treat yourself to any health or beauty offering.
