Matching BM shoes...

Matching BM shoes...

If the BM's are all wearing long dresses...what are your thoughts on them having matching shoes?

I didn't think it was a big deal at all if there weren't matched but my florist insisted it'll look bad in pics

mine are long and i told the girls as long as they are silver, i didnt care what shoe they wore... i dont think they have to be exact clones of one another

ETA: and what the hell is your florist telling you this for... if anything id expect it to come from a photograher LOL

Ok this is making me feel better... they'll be wearing long black dresses so I told them any black shoe they'd like would work.

My florist JUST got married herself so it's fresh in her mind. I guess that's why she was so insistent on it.

I just told them to get either brown to match their dresses or gold. I was in a wedding last summer and she and us all get the same shoes and I wasn't a happy camper (I didn't tell the bride that of course) Not everyone can be comfy in the same shoes

I'm not making them match, as long as they're black flats. Already they're starting to rebel...I don't think it's a particularly unreasonable request, part of it is for their own comfort and well being, and only marginally my vanity and pride (if I have to wear flats, I'm not having anyone be unaturally taller than me, it's just my own personality disorder LOL). They're all wearing long dresses too, and I don't think it will look bad.

They are getting their own shoes, my only request is that they are silver and open toe.

i had that problem too.. i have burnt orange dresses so i was going to have the girls do a bronze or a gold shoe.. but then realized theres so many shades of each color so that was not going to work... so i decided on dyeables...

i was in my cousins wedding last year and we did silver shoes.. that was easier,,,

i guess it depends.. i would just pick a color and tell all your girls to do that one color..

the reason why i guess its sort of a big deal is when the girls walk down the aisle .. you do see the pics.. but honestly.. who is really paying attention to that????????????? lol

i dont think it matters...all of my girls have different style dresses and they will all have the same color shoe but not the same style....do what you want. Just because a vendor does weddings doesn't mean they are an expert at all things wedding....I think it will look fine as long as they are all in the same color.

i honestly dont like when brides make everyone get matching shoes....just my personal feelings....but i think if you just pick a color and a general style it will still look good while the girls are able to get something comfortable and spend what they wanna spend.

my cousins wedding we wore short dresses and she just told us to get silver strappy heels...we all had different shoes but it looked really cute. Long dresses is even better bc u wont even see the shoes!

I don't think it matters, especially with long gowns. My girls had short dresses and I didn't make them all get the same shoe! Not even all were the same color, they were either black or gold, which both went with the dresses. IMHO people can be very picky about their shoes, lots of people have wide/narrow or other problems that rule out entire styles of shoes and they are in pain when they wear certain shoes. I know I'm not comfortable in a lot of shoes. JMO!

Long or short I would still let them pick the shoe and you pick the color. Not all the girls are going to be comfy in the same shoe. THe last thing you want is one of the BM feet hurting.....its a long day let them pick the shoe.

i'm telling mine, just get a dyeable and match your dress....don't care if it's a sandle, pump or flat....they're wearing knee length dresses......and i of course tower over every one of them! but it's up to them if they want a heel or not.....i'm getting flats!

I dont think they need matching shoes, but they should all be the same color. Some girls, like me cant wear heels to save their lives...haha, so I wear flip flops when I can :o)

I just told my BMs to wear silver shoes - their choice on style.

I would not worry about their shoes matching if they are wearing gowns- You are not going to see the shoes.

I asked the girls to all wear white shoes but I can careless what their shows look like. I dont think it matters.

I told my girls to get whatever shoes they will feel comfortable in. In the long run nobody will notice what shoes they are wearing and they should be as comfortable as possible.
