matchmaking problem....

OK...so I hooked up a childhood friend of mine...with one of our GM...things are going very well...

well...the GM and another guy friend are coming out to CA to come and visit us...they wanted to go to a football game...so they bought 6 tickets...2 guys...and me and DH (Its my birthday...so DH says I have to be included...but also said if I didn't want to go...he wouldn't...)

then I asked about the other two tickets...one of the guys said it was for his girlfriend (who is pretty immature, I think she is not even 20...and we are all upper 20's -30's, so I'm not really psyched for her)...but the other ticket is up in the air...

so I've been trying to push for them to ask my childhood friend to come...since we have known each other for almost 30 years....she would come for me as well as him...

but DH brought this up and said it was a 'leave everything behind' vacation (although I'm not supposed to know this)...he said the other girl is not coming...but that leaves 2 extra tickets...and hesayd there is only one extra ticket...so that girl must be coming right?

so here's my question...should I ask my friend to come...or is that stepping on the toes of DH's friend?

Re: matchmaking problem....

It sounds like it's really up to the GM if he wants his gf (your friend) to come. I would make the suggestion and see what happens. It would probably be weird if you asked her and he didn't.

i think if you asked her to come, that might be pushing it too far.

that said, i think a vacation that's 'leave everything behind' is rotten and i hope that he doesn't hurt your friend's feelings.

also, if he doesn't invite your friend, i probably wouldn't go to the game. i don't think i'd want part of his vacation if something were to happen on it that hurt my friend.

i think this is how i would react but not so sure.

I wouldn't do it, you may actually injure their relationship in the process (he may feel like you're pushing her on him) I'd leave well enough alone...
