Is there a difference between a maternity (not nursing) bra and a regular one? Are they cut any larger or something?
I'm growing out of my current one but wonder if I should just go up a size? Do maternity bras allow for more room in the chest size as well as cup?

Re: maternity bras vs regular bras?
When I bought mine, the sales lady in Motherhood Maternity told me that the only difference is the maternity bras have more stretch or give in the cup. I needed bras anyway and they were marked down 70% so I bought them. But honestly I didn't notice a difference.

I would think that the maternity bras have more stretch to them or are have a bit more room for growth.

Re: maternity bras vs regular bras?
I actually purchased nursing bras the last month of my pregnancy and began wearing those. Most are very comfortable and you are able to adjust the cup-size. I did have to buy a larger size for the first couple of weeks post-partum. I went from a size 36c to 40DD!! It was scary! Anyway, if you are planning on breastfeeding it wouldn't hurt to get the nursing bras now and trying them. I even wore mine to bed!

The bras I found at Motherhood was much cheaper than my own (VS) ones...but I didn't find them too comfy.
I didn't have time to try on the other styles so maybe I'll do that when I have more time.

I bought some maternity bras and some nursing bras. I found all to be uncomfy. I went back to my VS body by V bras and will never change, even when #2 is coming.

I haven't been able to find a comfy bra anywhere other than at VS....maybe I'll just go up a size and see if that works for me there

If you just need a larger size, not cup size, buy the cheap bra extenders from JC Pennys. For $8 you get 4 6 of them and you can wear your bras for a lot longer. It saved me a ton. Vs bras are the best, I agree. But I use a nursing bra now since I find it easier to work with.

That's really what I need! I never knew this existed! Thanks I'll try and pick one of these up over the weekend.

Oh, it was so!! Milk-fed boobies! I took A LOT of hot showers, that seemed to be the only thing that helped!

Re: maternity bras vs regular bras?
the most comfortable bra I found was a soft cup Hanes Her Way from Target for $9.99. It has wide straps for extra support. So far I've gone up from a 36C to a 38C. I ended up buying 5 of them. I even wear them to bed. I couldn't deal with underwires poking into the top of my belly. Ouch. Not the sexiest thing, but it's all about comfort.

I normally wear underwire bras but the maternity ones hurt! Maybe I'll check these out too....

I bought a maternity bra, and maybe it was the wrong size, because it was so uncomfortable, I felt as though my boobs were duck taped together! I found that if I bought a larger band and cup size, it worked out well (I went from a 36C to a 38D).

I didn't wear maternity bras or undies. I just bought a cup and back size up, and was fine. I wore my own underwear throught the entire pregnancy.
