Yes, they have come a long way, but I refuse to spend $200 on a pair of stylish capris that I can only wear for 1 season! (That is what I found when I went to Pea in the Pod)

But at least we can find happy mediums somewhere in the middle and not pay through the nose for it

Terri, if you have any friends that work in any maternity store or get a discount in any maternity store use it. My BM's sister works for the GAP she gets 30% off, you know she will be my best friend. And my mother the bargain hunter will help. She is the best at finding steal and deals. I do believe tho a preggo lady must have some stylish clothes, not an entirely new wardrobe but some nice things that she feel extremely beautiful in.

Maternity clothes is pricey indeed, but if you get a few key pieces you should be ok.

Susans, I always loved that pants suit.

I am looking forward to wearing maternity clothes, I don't know why?? I am looking forward to this journey and I am keeping a positive attitude about it.

We're not supposed to have an entire new wardrobe??

I think it's great that you have such a positive outlook and that you plan on embracing this journey.

Having good clothes and in turn feeling good is part of what makes it so wonderful. And IMO there are some things that ARE worth the $150-$200 splurge. Like ONE pair of great fitting jeans. I wore mine to death for the first 6 months...so much so that there are holes in the elastic from all the tugging an pulling and my refusal to accept the fact that I'd officially outgrow them. LOL.
They were worth every penny for how good they made me feel when I'd normally be in tears over the number on the scale.

For now I've been living at the Gap - actually ordering online since there isn't a store near me that carries the maternity line. I wish I knew someone that worked there though!

So far, I don't need any really dressy outfits so that's good

If you come to the city you can get the 30% the store at 34th street carries Maternity stuff. Let me know if you are coming in to the city and I will ask my friend.

Re: MATERNITY CLOTHES HAVE COME A LONG WAY

My prayer partner told me not to read any sad stories or read anything that will get me wondering about if this or that could happen to me, so she told me to focus on the nicer things, so I am taking my mind off those things and focusing on something I love....clothes

$19.50 from Old Navy

$17.50

Oh how I love to show off my legs

Can yall tell I am having fun

Target has Liz Lange prego clothes. I got some stuff from there and Old Navy and Motherhood. I never spent a ton since I was working from home. If I had to go into an office everyday I would have gotten even more.

I didn't like some of pregnancy but I didn't mind the maternity clothes at all. It was nice not to worry about how big your stomach looks for a while
