I'm in my last tri today, but I popped REALLY early. My belly is HUGE. I have two pairs of demi panels that I bought a size up so that I could wear the panel under my belly. They fit okay, but they're always riding down.
If I buy my normal size, the panel is always tight. And I've outgrown my favorite demi panel Blue Cult jeans :( I have 2 pairs of extended panels from the Gap which are comfy, but ugly as sin.
Anyway, I came across this site where this girl, a SAHM, converts jeans into maternity jeans by putting a demi panel in the front. I bought 2 pairs of jeans, Dollhouse brand, (because the low rise ones convert the best)and sent them in. She charges $15 for a conversion.
She had them back to me a week after I received them and I have to tell you, my only regret is that I didn't find this girl 3 months ago. I would have loaded up on stylin jeans and sent them all in to get converted! The jeans I sent in were $20 a pair at Century 21 so with the conversion they work out to $40/pair plus shipping. They're SOOOO much more comfortable then the ones with the panel all the way around, THEY STAY UP, and they're as trendy as you want them to be!
Anyway, just wanted to recommend her to anyone that's having jean woes. I LOVE jeans and it's big plus that I can just buy normal ones and send them in and not pay $$$$ for stylish maternity jeans *designer maternity jeans run about $170/pair*
Here's my pair of dollhouse converted jeans (and me at 27 weeks, 170 lbs. )

Re: Maternity Jeans Recommendation
The jeans look great on you Susan!!
I am probably one of the only ones who hates the pants that are low rise. They don't stay put and I am always feeling as though I am walking around with the crotch swaying between my knees. I love the old fashioned ones that come up over the belly and I can't find them anywhere. I guess I am just weird! I am 26 weeks now andthe big feeling is starting to get to me.

Re: Maternity Jeans Recommendation
I was going to recommend Old Navy as well. The full panel ones are actually on sale on the website right now.
I think that gap might carry extended panel on their website. I got mine at the outlets in Tangiers for $9 or something.

RE: Susan - Ditto!
Trish you're not the only one. I found some belly coverin' jeans at the Gap with the side panels and I also got the full panel in khakis there. They just seem warmer to me, especially for winter.

Re: Maternity Jeans Recommendation
Thanks for the suggestions! I will look in Old Navy, GAP and Kohls (which I never knew had a maternity section?)
My next gripe (sorry to overrun your thread Susan!) is that I'm 5'7' and it seems all jeans are way too long for me! I don't consider myself short either!!

I too hate the low rise jeans. I went to Motherhood to look for pants with the tummy panel and she told me that they don't make too many anymore! GRR. I HATE LOW RISE. I feel like my crack is hanging out!

Re: Maternity Jeans Recommendation
Girls - Burlington Coat Factory has some cute jeans/pants etc.
The one in Sunrise and the one in Bayside Queens are EXCELLENT. Any other ones, please call to see if they even HAVE maternity at all.
and their prices are.......INSANE (LOL just wanted to say that!) (and by insane I mean REALLY LOW )

Re: Maternity Jeans Recommendation
They are cute and you look great.
My only advice is that is gets worse and worse trying to find clothes when you carry big and 'pop' early...
I seriously am having such a difficult time with clothes and finding the Old Navy Maternity was the way for me to go. So far, they are the only clothes that have fit well enough for my belly. I also pretty much only own the front panel like you had sowed in because anything else, just doesn't fit correctly.
Just wait, when you can't fanthom getting any bigger, you do! At this point, I am just in shock that my belly could get this big...
