mattress

ok, My husband and I have been looking for our bedroom set and the ones that we like so far( mostly sleigh beds but with out the frontboard), only use a mattress and not a boxspring.

We are used to a boxspring and mattress but we don't know if just the mattress will be comfortable.

Does anyone have any recommendations for us as to whether just a mattress is ok?
