May 20th 2006 Just started planning

Have no hall, no dj, no florist, no dress but ideas brewing, picked out the bm dresses but no one likes them except my sister! I feel like I have way too much to do before May 2006 and no way to get it done. All I've managed to come up on is the date and even that is starting to teeter. Help! Im looking for the fairytale wedding but of course like most we're broke. I've been labled the queen of parties in my family since I always seem to have a reason to through one, so with the wedding everyone is waiting to see what I come up with next. Here's the problem this isn't just any party to me so nothing seems to be good enough. If only we could afford the Oheka castle I'd be set Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats and take a deep breath!

Plan out, month by month, everything you need to do. With a year and a half to go, you've got plenty of time to get everything the way you want!

Trying, thanks
Im sure once we book something I'll feel better. I just made an appt. today to go see the milleride cottage next weekend but was informed that they want 175 min.

Once you book the hall, a lot of things will start flowing. I found booking the hall to be the hardest part because it sets the tone of your wedding - day/night, formal/informal, garden setting/waterfront setting, etc, etc. You will get a lot of ideas about what elements will work and not work once you know the setting.

Just remember, whatever your budget, and wherever you book your hall, your wedding will be wonderful!! There are plenty of ways to be creative and add a special touch to a wedding without it having to cost a fortune. Good luck and let us know how you make out with your search for a reception place!

oh you're ahead of the game with having so much time to plan. i'd start with the hall, and have a few places in mind and also be flexible (if possible) on the day. i was engaged in APR this year, and wanted a June wedding, but had to changed due to reception hall availability (not a big deal in my book to change.) And just like the other LIW poster said, once you get the reception hall and chapel, things will start flowing! Have fun with this and luxuriate meanwhile in being engaged! CONGRATS!!

Yes, enjoy being engaged!! You'll never have this feeling again, so sit back and relax for a bit and take care in knowing that things WILL come together! It is a lot, but there are plenty of checklists out there, and this site is a tremendous resource in itself!

In the meantime, keep bookmarking ideas, and vendors.

Good Luck!

He is great. Also I booked a band called the seventies experience. The are incredible. The band also works with a dj company called absolute sounds. They will both be playing at my wedding. antoinette72,
I'm the day after you and I haven't done much either. I 'm probably going to book my hall on Sunday ( I just put a hold on the date today...yay) and I know I want to book an Alaskan Cruise just as soon as 2006 dates open. Other than date, I've done nothing. We have time.
