Does anyone think that this is a bad day to have my wedding? Its on Memorial Day in the evening starting at 6:00pm at Majestic Gardens?

Is that the sundy before memorial day? or the monday? If it's sunday it's great!


ETA: I;d sjut send out STD's well in advance so people don't make other holiday plans.

I think the Monday sin't good b/c people have work the next day, and they generally can't take a day off if they need to travel b/c they've just had a 3 day weekend. Some places give GREAT prices for the Sundays of Holiday weekends, they keep the sundya price, even though it's really like a saturday b/c people have off the next day.

i know that monday of memorial day weekend would be really difficult for many people!

I personally wouldn't do it that day. It's hard to get a day off around a holiday and you wouldn't want people to not enjoy themselves because they need to go to work the next day.

I agree. was the day before avaiable? the 28th? That way its a sunday with monday being a holiday and everyone has off.

Thats what I did. Im getting married the Sunday before presidents day.

i think it depends on how many OOT's you have. since its a monday night people may not be into partying too late with work the next morning.. but it all depends on your guests.

that was my original date and I struggled with my mom and out guest so i decided to change the date to the day before sunday may 28,06

I'm doing the same thing, except labor day of 2006. Personally I think holiday weekends are a great time to do weddings, people have the extra day to recover and they don't 'lose' their weekend since they have the extra day.

I would check into Sunday, especially if you have those that are traveling. We have 100+ coming from MA, so we decided Sunday to make it easier for them.

I booked the date already. I just wanted to get opinions. I only have like 5 relatives in Atlanta, 1 in VA and 8 in North Carolina. Everyone else is in Brooklyn, Long Island, Bronx, Queens etc. But i am sending out save the date cards in February to get everyone ready. At first i wanted Sunday but they didnt have it, but i thought that people have the day off that day and if everyone in town wants to go away for the weekend they can just make sure they come back by Monday for the wedding.

The wedding is in the evening as well.
