I'm in the process of making ours. The design in the pictures below was my first attempt. The whole invite has evolved quite a bit since these pictures, especially the layout of the text and the inserts. However, I don't have pictures of where it's at right now on this computer. I'll post those another time.

A word to anyone looking to make these... through TONS of research (and I mean MANY HOURS) I've realized that going the DIY route on pocketfold invites doesn't save you much money. If you actually construct the pocketfold yourself (which I am not ambitious enough to do), you might save a bit more, but not a ton. Just something to bear in mind.

I bought them from Fairy Tale Affairs in Massapequa - they are now a vendor on LIW. I thought they were a little expensive (I learned later that you can get Elite invites at 20% off ) but the paper was amazingly hefty and has a very subtle texture to it (but yet not subtle enough to make addressing them easy on my poor calligrapher...).

They helped me pick out fonts, suggested wording, and had the proofs back to me in just a couple of days. (I live out of state, so they faxed them.) Once I approved the proofs, the invitations came about a week or two later.

ETA: Maybe they aren't LIW vendors. I can't find them listed. Here is their web site:

Thanks...I love those invites. I found them last week??? and everytime I look at them I love them more!

I did the pricing on mygatsby.com and it came out to about 575 for 125 invites. So that is about 4.60 an invite which isnt bad. But I feel like I am doing something wrong!
