maybe a dumb DIY cardbox question

i have a carbox that is 5 tiers and i'm alternating the tiers in red and black.

the material i bought is one big sheet, is there a method to knowing how to cut the fabric for the first box. does that make sense?

do you have directions as to how to make your cardbox, or are you just winging it?

i'm just winging it. i bought paper mache boxes and some satin fabric and ribbon

are you using round or square boxes?
always alwayssssss measure 2 or even 3 times before you cut!!!!!
i have just cut with out double checking and it was just a mis shapen mess
