Maybe engaged?

Hi everyone!

So I don't know if I could really call myself engaged but my bf and I have been talking for a while and have decided to get married next year (2015, anywhere from January to May). I don't have a ring (we were looking to get one by the summer) but wanted to get a start on finding out info since I have no idea what I am doing. Am I jumping the gun or is it ok to start now since we are both on the same page?
