am i the only one who has begun to communicate with certain friends solely through email? not even by choice - its usually because life has gotten busy and now we are on different schedules and can never seem to make it work to find time to simply shoot the sh!t.
maybe i am a bad friend that i am willing to accept this and simply appreciate that i am still able to communictae with these friends via pictures and emails, etc. but i have had enough of the friends that say - 'oh im not even going to get into it over email - we have got to get together so i can tell u everything. ' its like - I HAVE NOT SEEN YOU SINCE MY WEDDING - and probably wont see you for another month - can you just take the 3 minutes and TYPE OUT WHAT HAPPENED!!!
my gf's nephew is very sick and i ask her - and this is what she writes me - MORE THAN ONCE - dude your never getting to see me - i know what running to hospitals is like - there is NO TIME to play CATCH UP - jeez
anyway - vent over - and i dont care if that makes me a bad friend.

It doesn't make you a bad friend. We all go through times in our lives where the pressue is up and down. My friends know me well enough that I maybe be incommunicado for a little while but I will always go back.

There are certain people that I would like to see more often (you included) however I understand that life happens....but, I have no problem sending you or anyone else that I don't see a long azz email about what is going on in my life & yes I do expect a reponse...good or bad about what is happeneing with them.
To be honest, during the day I have no time to talk on the phone so email is easiest, after work I really can't be bothered being on the phone. Trying to coordinate schedules is tough--everyone always has stuff going on.

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I go into these hermet phases (for no other reason than I am busy or really focused on something specific)
I rock the incognito thing. Sometimes the best your going to get out of me is an email.

I hate talking on the phone. I will only do it for people I never can see - like who live in california... otherwise, I use the phone only for setting up times to get together, not for chit chat....

I think email works for me like beepers used to. I like to get all my words out- and you canget back to me. It puts the ball in your court. I am not warm.

I am not a phone person.
But I hate typing out a long story in an email or even an IM. I just get to a point where I'm like, if you want to hear the stupid story I will have to tell you in person.

Oh same here...I communicate with the majority of my friends via email and text messaging...the older we get the more we have on our plate...its not the same...unfortunately...we're busier these days.

Some people can't bother to respond when you send them long emails.

right - that is totally ideal - but if you know the odds are you wont see this person anytime soon - wouldnt you just buckle down and type???
its like - dont tell me about your sick nephew and how he is in the hospital and than when i say - so how is he doing? what happened? say - oh i cant get into it - i will tell you when i see you.
it p!ssed me off.
when my FIL was in the hospital i was courteous enough to her to respond to her concerns - i feel like she totally blew off mine!! UGGHH!!
