maybe its just me...

but it seems that every time i want to talk wedding stuff with my mom she is too busy.. like i called her earlier adn she was half sleep.. i understand that cause she just drove my little brother back down to college yesterday.. so she's sleepy trying to pretend she's awake.. i tell her by and hang up..

she calls me back 10 minutes later wide awake and excited to talk about my brothers college dorms, and all the stuff he had to take back, and his room, and his books and how she took him to the store to get food for his room and on and on and on.. i'm like dude.. what happened to being sleepy?

oh i am sorry:( but i understand my mom is the same way. she is like ' i got you a bridal mag' and i am like great thanks i have like 100 of them. my fmil is helping a lot more!!! and she is nuts....
why don't you ask her what is going on? maybe she is upset to see you growing up and married. you can always talk to me about your plans:)

i think FH's family is way more excited than mine.... i feel like my family can be very jealous and they are 'debbie downers' :(

Sorry to hear that . Take her out to lunch and see how she reacts then, are you her first child to get married??? Maybe she thinks she is getting old ....

I totally feel you. I dont even like calling my mom anymore because I feel depressed every time I get off the phone with her. She isnt all in to the whole planning thing, and she lives in Pittsburgh right now, so it isnt like I can just stop by to talk. All my bridesmaids are from out of town too, so sometimes I feel so lonely!

As a mother of an 18 year old, I rather talk about him going to college than about my baby getting married because when you all go away to college we know that you still need us but when you get married You know longer need us and it hurts. But it will pass. give her some time. Talk to her and let her know how you feel. She probable don't realize she's doing it.
