i restarted to take my pill in June.. and of course in the beginning i was good with it.. but now i ALWAYS seem to 4get about it... at least, i dont remember til late at night or way past 11.15am.. the time i am supposed to take it...
can i get pregnant if im taking it.. just at wacky hours?

Basically what they say is that if you don't take it at pretty much the exact same time every day you can get pregnant. So if you miss your pill or take it VERY late one day, then for the next few days you should use condoms, etc. Maybe the patch is better for you b/c it's less to remember?

Why 11:15 am? Thats such a hard time to remember! I used the keep the pills on my nightstand, right against my alarm clock so that I'd see them. I'd take it every night before going to sleep. With a meal, first thing in the morning, or last thing at night could work better for you!
I don't think it has to be at the same exact time every day, but I went by my own made up rule of give or take two hours without worrying. If 12 hours have passed and pregnancy would be very, very bad, might as well use a back up method.
(Personally, when I was at the stage that pregnancy would be bad, I always used two forms of protection anyway -- the pill is not 100% effective...)

I'm always forgetting to take my BCP, probably not the best birth control option for me (tried the patch didn't like it) but oh well, if I get pg then it's not the end of the world at this point. If you are off by a few hours or even a day most likely you'll be fine, if you forget it for more than 2 days you need to use a back method for the next 7 days.

That was me too! I took it for 5 years at bedtime. If for some reason I was not going to bed at my usual time, I took it before going out.
Look at all the problems I am having now to get pregnant...I probably would not have gotten pregnant back then either..

Once I started using the pills for BC rather than to regulate myself, I asked my dr. about the timing, and she kind of blew it off! She said that it didn't matter if i took it before i went to bed at 11pm or before i went to bed at 3am.
(BTW..I was just reading TTC..i'm not actually trying to TTC right now)

Weren't you on it last time?
I got ptregnant 2x's on Ortho the first ended in a very early miscarriage and the second was a chemical pregnancy. I took my pills at the exact same time every day. I was on them for cysts on my ovaries and I was so worried if I didn't the pain would come back. We think my pills might have been heat tampered with though because I had numerous friends who got theres from the same place and ended up pregnant.
So I believe you can easily get pregnant especially if you mess them up. Maybe the patch or a IUD is a good option for you.
This might sound silly but what if you started a routine that you brush your teeth after dinner and then take your pill. If your anything like me you probably eat around the same time daily and both are good habits to have.

Mybe you should try the patch (Ortho Evra). Just slap on a patch and and don't have to think about it for a week until it's time to change it.

I'm a pharmacist and a terrible pill taker....shame on ME!! I used to take 2 or 3 in a day sometimes and never got pregnant.
I DO NOT recommend this though especially if you have a very healthy sex life.
Odds are if you remember it every day you aren't going to get pregnant but the possibility is always there. I switched to taking mine at night when I washed my face and that worked better. I take my prenatals at that time now so I remember.
I HIGHLY recommend the Nuvaring though. In for 3 weeks and you don't have to even think twice about it until it's time to take it out.

i was on the patch and loved it.. but i am at a new DR now and wont have insurance til the wedding.....
lol 11:15am... its when i do my makeup... BUT i am a horrible pill taker and can ONLY take it with JUICE~.. and it cant be thew first thing i eat... (and it always is)... so perhaps i should take it at night then.. like 11 pm.... thats easier...
i better start being better with it i see!

When I first started taking BC I tried taking it during lunch but for some strange reason my stomache would hurt bad and I couldn't go out after work.
So I figured let me try taking it before bed.
I set my cellphone at 9:00 pm, so it goes off automatically every day at 9. Try that, it works great.
(that is the time OLTL is on also, which reminded me if my cellphone wasn't near by)
070502- you said you got pregnant twice on BC, my question is how did you know? Sometimes I wonder, if I do get pregnant on BC how do I know and is it safe for the baby to keep taking BC without you knowing?
