I am getting married 5/17 and I have to have my church at 1:30 because they have communion confessions that day I wanted to have it at like 3-3:30. So, now I moved up my cocktail to 6:00pm. Did any of you have this problem? I feel like it is a long time in between to have to entertain people, b/c my reception is like 5 minutes from church. Is this a normal time span in between?

Re: May/June Brides
Don't worry my Ceremony is at 2:30 (latest possible at my church) and my CH is at 6:00. Just think that you have more time for pictures and all

I am glad I have a lot of time to take pic's. I think FMIL is making me nervous, she was like there is no other day in May that works. I think she thinks it is too much time. Oh well, just wondered if you guys had the same issue. I am thankful to not have to rush though. I guess it is more time to enjoy 'one of the best days in my life'
Thanks

honestly, i think the more time the better!! so you dont have to stress yourself out with the picture taking process in between... you can just take your time - people are used to having lots of time in between the ceremony and reception.. at least i am... i dont think anyone will care.... they will find something to do in between!!
but i had that problem too with communions and all... my ceremony is at 3 and our CH starts at 7.... so you figure that by the time the church ends and you to the receiving line it would be like 430/5pm... so my guests will have a chunk of time to figure out what to do with too! lol

My mother was just saying she is going to have an 'open house' for people to hang at in between, they will be fine. I told her just not to have too much alcohol or food around, they got to save it for the PARTY!!

Better to have more time than be short on time. Get all the pics out of the way in between, freshen up and then by the time 6 comes around- you'll enjoy your whole reception! We have our church at 3PM and cocktail moved up to 6 (from 7)... And , we're DATE TWINS!! What church are you at?

We are date twins.!!!!I have 3 hours between the church and the CH too. The good thing is that people can go home change and still have enough time to get to the RH.
