Mazda Tribute

Anyone own one? DH is looking for a new car since his lease will be up soon. He's looking at the Tribute and the Santa Fe. What have your experiences been? Can you recommend a good dealership? THANKS!

Re: Mazda Tribute

I've owned a Mazda Tribute for about 2&1/2 years now. I am somewhat happy with the car. We have had to bring it back in for service about 5 times already though. First off, the back window rattles - There is no way for them to fix it - They just tighten it up and eventually the rattle comes back. We also had to bring the car in for an entire front-end overhaul. They needed to replace the struts, sway bar, etc. I'm just glad I am still under warrenty. But now, again, I have to bring the car in tomorrow. It sounds like the transmission is about to fall out of the car - Not good. I think that maybe our car isn't so great because it we have a 2001 and that is the first year the car came out. The Tribute has been rated very highly lately so don't let my experience influence your decision too much. We bought it from Mazda 112 in Medford and loved the dealership.

Re: Mazda Tribute

Thank you for your honesty. It's good to get all opinions. We've gotten a few and the others have been quite positive. DH is still looking but was quite happy when he looked at it yesterday. We've checked out others and he hasn't been as happy with those. I don't know what we'll end up doing! I'm going to have an upset stomach until this decision is made!
