Re: MC and a DJ?
I am having both as well. I think an MC is good because they can hype motivate the party. Especially if you are doing dances like the electric slide, chicken dance, Macarena ...LOL things that people only do at weddings!

I am not really sure how to explain it but I am sure you can youtube it and find out. It's a silly dance, very amusing...lol I'm not doing it but some people might like that sort of thing.

It's recommended that if you are having a good amount of people to have both....but that's a lot of industry talk...don't do it if it will strain your budget.

I'm only having a one man dj/mc, but it's going to be a small wedding. I think if it's a large crowd, then it might be easier to have the two.

Re: MC and a DJ?
I had both. I was very specific with my MC that I didn't want him on the mic all night, I didn't want him harrassing my guests, etc. He did a great job. He got the crowd up when he needed to, announced us, and when dinner was served, our parent dancing etc. He just let the crown know what was going on.

'I don't wanna be a chicken i dont wanna be a duck so shake your but!' lol
I'm having a MC and DJ separate. It depends on how involved you want the MC to be. If your ok with a person who you don't see and just hear (including ur grand enterance) then a mc/dj combo is fine. If you want someone out there with your crowd then def get them separate.
