Hi Ladies, We are planning a very casual non traditional wedding - meaning no first dance, no mother/son dances, no cake cutting and no garter toss etc..... do we still need an MC??? I feel the basic DJ package would be sufficient but some DJs wont speak at all. I would need someone to make the necessary announcements like sitting down to eat etc.
Also, how do we enter the room without being introduced? We want this to be more like a get together and not a wedding! Help!!

a regular DJ (not MC) will still annouce you if you want ... but he may be less charismatic than an MC.
it's totally up to you if you don't want an MC ... you really don't need one for a more casual wedding

agreed. the regular DJ can make all the announcements that need to be made for you.

we are not being introduced, having bo-k toss, garter etc. We got the basic DJ package and our DJ says he will make whatever announcements we want (sit for dinner etc). We plan on just going from the CH to reception with our guests.. no introduction, nothing fancy.. just everyone being there together.

We really like Bravura but their DJ will not make the small announcements so they require that we get an MC!

Really? I have never heard that before. Your DJ should be able to MC (to an extenet) also.

We booked a 'one man show', so he can guide the process when we want him too, and really just have him fade into the background for the rest of it!
We are being announced at our outdoor CH, since we want to be there!
No Bo-K toss, no garter....we will do a first dance, but that's it

we booked ralph from high energy entertainment as our DJ. after talking with him we really don't feel we need an MC and he said he has done many weddings alone and he does all the announcing we would want! unbeatable price too for our budget wedding!

Thanks Ladies. I will check with them but it was an additional $700 for an MC and I am positive I dont need it.
