We didnt want the club vibe either, which is difficult to find on Long Island! But, we did go with both DJ and MC. I just felt like manning the music and assessing the needs of the crowd are two very important jobs and if they aren't done well could ruin the whole vibe. I think you have to be straight forward with your DJ/MC and let them know the vibe you are going for.

Agreed! We specifically told our MC to NOT make anyone uncomfortable by forcing them up or getting in their faces.

I also agree with definitely getting an MC. I have a fear of no one dancing at my wedding (weird, I know) and an MC will definitely help with that.

Def get both, every DJ we go to tells us to get both, you have 1 man running the party and the other one playing music. If not, it's not fluid and doesn't move as smooth

When you meet with DJ's make sure you stress that you don't want the MC to be overly demanding and obnoxious. I think we've all seen that happen too many times.

I am having an MC bc I want everyone up, dancing & having a good time!! I feel like an MC will offer that type of energy... but I also don't want people to feel pressured or embarrassed, so I made a point to tell my MC not to pull people onto the floor lol
