Meadow Club questions.......

Meadow Club questions.......

I have done a search and read through almost all the posts about this place but what i need to know is more about the overall 'feeling' of the place. I've been told that due to my wedding size I would be given the Meadow room. In the pictures on the site the room looks like it has a very low ceiling an all they show is one table. Plus, I also heard it is right off a main highway? Of course, the best bet would be for me to visit but I live in Jersey now and every trip I take out to the island I never hit all the places I want so i am trying to minimize the list. I am attracted to this place b/c of the gardens and the price (but not the mult. bride thing or the highway).

Can anyone give me more details about the Meadow room, the cocktail hour room i would get with this room, is it charming or old and run-down? And does the highway bother anybody?

Thoughts? i appreciate anything you have to offer girls......Thanks.

Re: Meadow Club questions.......

My sister had the smaller room, and it was so nice

The grounds are really pretty in the summer, and the food is VERY good. No..no...the place is NOT run down at all.

My brother had his wedding there and it was very nice. I am not sure which room it was in though. I know when you first entered it was the one straight ahead. The wedding party had a suite upstairs which was so nice. It had a huge round table so you could actually sit. The place was very pretty and the food was great. My brother and I ate all the rice balls. They had their wedding at the end of November and they had a huge tree decorated. It made for nice pitctures.

I did not see the cocktail hour room until the wedding video and it did not look crowded. (Their wedding was less than 120 people).

It is located off of 112 which I think would be easy for the guests to find it. If you have any other questions Laura let me know. I can always ask my SIL.

Definitely check it out. I'm getting married there, but in the Terrace room and I lucked out that I am the only bride that night. They are having a party in the meadow room. The grounds are really pretty and they are expanding them. They are also making all sorts of improvements inside and out that should be done soon. And you can't beat the price for everything they give you. Give them a call. They are so sweet there. It is right on Route 112, but unless you are having the ceremony outside, I see no problem with it. Let me know if you have any other questions!

jbella13 - do you remember if you saw other wedding parties there and if that bothered you as a guest?

We were going to book there, but decided in the end that it was too far away. I thought the place was really nice and very charming. I wouldn't really consider it off a major highway, more like a popular road. I mean it's not like it's right off the LIE!! You should go and see it, it's well worth the trip IMO.

Re: Meadow Club questions.......

I had my reception at the Meadow Club, and while I had my wedding in the Terrace Room, the Meadow room is also a nice size. It will hold I belive up to 120 people. My sister attended a Christening in that room and had nothing but good things to say. She never felt cramped or anything like that.

The food was delicious (8 months later and we are still getting compliments!), an the staff was awesome. Yes, it is off the highway, but that was just an attraction for us as an easier place for the guests to find, and Route 112 is a 2-lane highway I believe. We couldn't hear the cars at all while we were in the gardens taking pictures.

I was also the only other bride there that night, but there was a Sweet 16 going on, and that wasn't a problem at all. The girls who were in the lobby all oooh and ahhhed over my dress when I went to be bustled.

Good luck! And let me know if I can be of anymore help!
