mean people and one nice guy!

Okay so this morning I go to make a left onto the Van Wyck service road. Yesterday, there was about three feet of water there so they had police barricades up BUT today there were no barricades. . . so I thought they had taken care of it.

Um, NO actually SOMEONE just DROVE over the barricades so all these cars were going into the water and totally stalling. . .so i P A N I C. I was about five minutes away from parking my car in the street and just crying because I knew if I had gone through there I would have DESTROYED my car and I was SURROUNDED by traffic.

So, there was a cab driver behind me that asked if he could make a U turn in front of me and go INTO oncoming traffic. . .so of course i let him as i am having a breakdown and about to cry. THEN he tells me to follow him - so i get up all my courage and follow him onto the sidewalk and INTO oncoming traffic AGAINST the light! He went first and kind of blocked the traffic and then let me go through - and all these people were curisng at us and stuff but seriously whoever was going through there was NOT making it out!

So, anywho.

to the IDIOTS who tore down the police barricades - eff you

very nice of him but OMG theres still water there right by me the water was so high i saw on the news ppl got stuck there for 5 hours

heres what i dont understand, right by the van wyck theres ALWAYS water there, even on the driest day, i always try to figure out why not like yesterday and today of course but still some water

Had to be a taxi driver!!! They will do anything to get out of a mess even if it means driving into oncoming traffic! Glad you got outta that mess safely

wow, what a bunch of idiots! i hope whoever took the barricades down got stuck! thank god for the nice man though. that was sweet of him to help you.
