meaning of being good

meaning of being good

A few weeks ago I asked FH if he thinks I will make a good wife. He said of course, what other reason would he have to propose to me, but when I asked him to list in detail what makes him think that (I am all about the details) he couldn't explain exactly or pin point what is it about me that makes him think that.
That got me thinking about what makes a person a good husband/wife. What is it that we're looking in another person that we think will make a great partner for us?

This been on my mind for a few weeks now, and the only thing I keep coming up with is that I want FH to support me no matter what. Always be there and stand by me.
I think everything else will fall into place if that support part is in place on both sides - mine and his.

What do you guys think makes a good husband/wife?

compromise!

Actually, FH and I argue a lot and lately I've been noticing that he's doing things a little differently because of things I've said to him. This makes me feel bad because I'm not sure that I've been able to do things differently... I do try though. I stopped making a BIG deal out of the dumb little things.

Sex is also very important! I know what you're thinking, 'Oh becca, you WOULD say that,' but seriously, it's important to keep that part of your relationship intact! What happens when that stops? You'll probably argue more.

Wow-good question!! I think what makes a good spouse is being supportive, loving, appreciative, respectful, faithful, honest (I could go on) and most importantly- sticking it out through the good and bad.

Great question...

FH has an amazing worth ethic, he is relentless when it comes to his job, he will be a great provider and an amazing father... and those things are important to me... he is very into wanting a house and being responsible for maintaining it and things like that...

he has also told me several times that if i wanted to be a 'house wife' that he would be ok with it... i told him thats not happening unless we hit the lotto or something like that...

Becca, I actually very seriously agree with the sex part. It is very important for making a relationship work. And its one of those things a lot of couples (including us sometimes) that don't stress enough in day to day life. And as you said you do start arguing more.

He would have to be honest, faithful and just stick by me through the good and bad. FH is all of these and a million more which is why I'm marrying him.

Being there for each other, no matter what.

I know FH is going to make an amazing husband because he has been 100% there for me through everything, including all his familial crap...whatever has happened, even if he doesn't think I'm totally right, he takes my side with them, because he knows that the family we are forming is the most important one of all.
