meat packing

meat packing

We are going to a hotel/spa and lounge in the meat packing district for our jack & jill party. Of course there are tons of great restaurants there but they are pricey and we're trying not to have everyone pay too much. So we've weeded out most of the places we know we like ($$$$) and found some with good prices that we've never been to. Has anyone ever gone to:

Revel
Bottino
Macelleria

?

If so, reviews please!! Or, recommend another option in or near meat packing!

haven't been to those, but here are some other ideas:

spice market - good food and fun environment!
scarpetta - great food, but smaller place
gansevoort roof top - (for drinks after, especially if it's nice weather)
one - i heard decent food and good lounge

there are more and i can't think, but spice market is definitely the place to be !!

ita! We got pricing at the spice market and for what they're charging they aren't giving much food. FH & I and my family/friends dont' care but FHs family NEVER goes to the city and is used to LI portions so I think the prices/portions will send them running lol I've never been to scarpetta - I'll have to check that out! Thanks!

We are staying at the gansevoort and using the spa there. It's small but it's nice and they have been super helpful. I'm going there today after work to confirm the bookings. Let me know if you have any q's!

Locande Verde is good - I've been there before too! The thing is, we're going to have 20 ppl staying at the hotel/spa so I wanted to keep the restaurant in walking distance so that everyone doesn't have to pile into cabs/subway. Just trying to make it easy on everyone. Mostly, like I mentioned, for the non-city goers who are probably going to go into shock over this whole thing anyway!

We'll def be going to the rooftop that night. I'm hoping it's a nice day/night. My sister has somehow managed to get us into Tenjune so we'll be headed there too.

I've been to Macelleria - the food is pretty good, nothing crazy, but definitely good for the price. You can also try Fig & Olive which is yummy and decently priced and a bigger restaurant than Macelleria so you might have an easier time getting a reservation for 20 people. I'll try to think of some other places!

I have been to Revel....and I highly recommend it. The food is so tasty and the atmosphere is so nice. They have a retractable roof for the nice days!
