The LIRR said there was 'an incident involving an LIRR train and an Amtrak train'
Oh yeah, and it took us 2 hours to get in, when it usually takes us one.GRRRRRRR

Re: Media's view of the Train Incident this morning..
CNN: 130 Minor Injuries - Witnesses said a Long Island Rail Road train was inside the station on Track 14 when it was hit by the Amtrak train
7Online: At least 30 minor Injuries - An LIRR train bumped into an Amtrak train in the East River Tunnel approaching Penn Station just after 7 a.m.
MSNBC: 130 Minor Injuries (get their news from CNN?) - A commuter train was struck from behind by an empty Amtrak train as they approached Penn Station on Monday morning
News12: 'More than 100 injuries' Officials said an empty Amtrak train #183 enroute to Penn rear-ended the LIRR train.
So either they stories are wrong for the lesser number or someone on the train said 'they should pay' out loud and the injuries went up from the initial count.
Two said it was the LIRR who hit Amtrak and two say it was Amtrak who hit LIRR
Geez, get the facts STRAIGHT! Amtrak already has a bad track record. I can see why folks would jump and cry 'ow' if it was them. If it was MTA well heck they raised ridiculous fare increases and threaten to do more thats another 'ow' reason. Almost all of the injuries are minor bumps and brusies, but I wouldnt be surprised if 'more' comes out of this.
Gotta love how the news gets it straight and folks wonder why I don't listen to them for more important issues without seriously doubting them.

From News12: The accident happened outside the East River tunnels at a switching point just before Penn Station at 7:05 a.m. The LIRR train #2099 left Ronkonkoma at 5:42 a.m. and was due in Penn Station at 7:02 a.m. Officials said an empty Amtrak train #183 enroute to Penn rear-ended the LIRR train. The jolt caused hundreds of passengers on the LIRR to be thrown around.
