So I have been having some unusual iessues with my left side. It started down in my legs its kinda a strange heavy feeling still not sure how to describe it. It almost feels like I had the flu shot in my leg. Well the pain kinda traveled up to my arm so I tried to make a dr. appt. and they couldn't seem me. I then went to urgent care who sent me to the er on Mon night. Well I have never met such an jerk dr as i did in the ER he said it was all in my head and pain can't go from the leg to the arm on just one side of the body. They checked for a blood clot which thankfull y it is not and sent me home. This was fine b/c I never even wanted to go to the ER just to get a dr. oppinion. Well the strange heaviness and tingling has gotten worse. I am supposed to finally go to Hawaii on Wednesday to plan the wedding and I am just so frustrated and angry. I am working on getting an appt with my stupid dr. now!!!!!!Sorry for the vent but I am just pissed and frustrated as all heck
Has anyone heard of such a thing?

I can't believe you can't get a dr.'s apt. Usually when you tell them its serious, they get you in right away. I would demand to be seen tomorrow

Well it could be partly stress b/c this year at my school has been Hell. But things are really unwinding at this point. I don't think I would say that I am anymore stressed than earlier this year. Actually tonight I took a walk with a coworker and the tingling in the arm has gotten worse. I looked up the syntoms on webmd and I got some ideas as to what it could be. I am trying to find some time I could leave my job to get to the dr.

I have the same exact thing! I fell along time ago badly and after the fall, I fell again badly the next day. 3 months later I had this in my left leg., traveled up to my shoulder., over down my right side. I thought I was dying.
I went to get an MRI on my knee and NOTHING. I was having problems walking...etc. the a$$ of a doctor put me in phys therapy.. NOTHING.
I went to a chiropracter., helped but came back... I yelled at him....and said I want an MRI., well thats what finally got me the answer..
3 discs in my spinal cord are ruptured., they are sitting on top of each other out of place., they are also sitting on top of a nerve. NICE!!!
Ive been getting epidurals, to avoid surgery, they work wonders!

Yeah I have never had a prob. in NY but my dr. closes at 4 pm daily. Not open on weekends and its just a pain in the ***. I even told them that the ER dr. told me to come and they couldn't really work with availability. I have two IEPs tomorrow which i cannot cancel so I have to make an appt on friday

BTY,,this week the pain got worse. I think pilates was bad to start up again b/c Im now in pain. If you want a quick fix for Hawaii., the doc can give you pain killers.
Then deal with it when you get back., Get an MRI.

yes i had a sonogram to rule out a clot and a MRI and bloodwork. They are also testing to make sure I wasn't bit by a tick , who the hell knows

wow!! im so sorry to hear this.. the ER docs dont always pay attention!! like the above poster i was going to say maybe something with your spine. since its all nerves. and if its the left leg it could very well be siatica (sorry i cant spell) but its when a nerve is 'pinched' and it sends a 'shock' causing the tingling down the left leg. i would go see an orthopedic or spine doctor. i went to Long island Spine in commack they are GREAT!

p.s. i dont know where you live but i work for a GREAT doctor and we have apts or Walk ins and we can do a nerve test in the office to see if it has something to do with the nerves. if you want more info please FM !

Yea..get an MRI., It checks for tissue/nerve damage

thanks girls. I really dont' know what it could be at this point but I just wanna get it solved by my long plane ride, it makes me nervous to travel so far and have issues when I am in Hawaii

I had tumors on my spine... I dont want to scare you into thinking thats what it could be... but it doesnt hurt to get an MRI done.
thankfully, they *caught* mine early enough and removed them so today I am pain free.
i do have a wicked scar...

[EDIT] oops soorry didnt see your earlier post.
I met a few women who had that surgery done while i was in nerosurgery ICU.. thats PAINFUL... my herniated discs are minor, they only give me a hard time every now & then... it was the tumors that killed me , they were HUGE.. and resting right on top of a nerve.
i dnt wish that pain on ANYONE.

THe discs are sittin on top of each other and rubbing against some nerves on my spine...4,5,6,
the doctors are telling me not to do it but im in bad pain constantly,,,,,everyone with the problem said they got surgery and they are better than ever
