medical question kind of

Might be TMI but....

why do we have to peepee so much?

I don't think I am far along enough for the baby' to be putting pressure on my bladder, am I? What really confuses me is that I go alot every time! I haven't upped my intake of liquids THAT much...

I thought maybe one of your doctors had explained this marathon peeing phenomenon!

It could be even small pressure on your bladder.

Jenny - your uterus is growing and everything else inside your pelvis is shifting around to make room for the baby. Sooo, the urge to pee becomes greater as soon as everything else starts to shift around.

I go through this too and I'm only at about 12 weeks! The worst part is waking up in the middle of the night to go. It's so hard for me to fall back asleep!!

I got this from babycenter

Why do I have to go to the bathroom so often?
You may start to notice a more frequent urge to pee soon after you discover you're pregnant. In fact, it's one of the most common early signs of pregnancy, starting about 6 weeks into your first trimester. Why do you suddenly need to go all the time? It's primarily because your blood volume increases dramatically when you get pregnant, which leads to a lot of extra fluid getting processed through your kidneys and ending up in your bladder. You may also eventually feel pressure on your bladder from your growing uterus.
Some pregnancy books suggest that you'll begin to feel some relief early in your second trimester as your uterus rises upwards out of your pelvis, but research doesn't support this idea. The fact is that you may not get that fabled second trimester break at all. In one study in which pregnant women actually measured how often and how much they urinated, researchers found that both the frequency and volume increased over the course of their pregnancies, with no relief in the second trimester. Try not to let it get you down, though. You'll likely feel better in other ways during the second trimester and, as a result, you may find it less of a chore to be running to the bathroom.

No problem! It is funny..I remember so much from nursing school. I am so proud of myself..I looked it up just to make sure there and I was right! They just explain it better than I would have said it.

I can't wait to be a mommy!
