FH and I have decided that we are going to do a western mediterranean cruise for our HM. the cruise we are looking at leaves from Barcelona. we want to go to london for a few days before the cruise. how many days should we allow to explore london? has anyone been to barcelona - should we explore that city before/after the cruise too? any advice is appreciated. thanks!

ive been to london and barcelona. you cant miss either of them! you have to give yourself time to see them both! ive been to each city for about 3 days each and i was able to see all the major stuff. i personally love barcelona more but i am a beach lover so i would give more time for that, however i know london has tons of things to see.

Barcelona is my absolute favorite European city - you have to spend a few days there first (I'd say about 3). London is also great, and a lot like NY in that you can see the highlights in 3 days or you could stay 3 weeks and barely scratch the surface! If you're just staying in London, probably 3 - 4 days would suffice. But if you want to travel outside of London to places like Oxford or Bath, then you may want to tack on more days. Given that you'll be seeing so many places on the cruise, you probably are better off just keeping to London and Barcelona beforehand and not get too ambitious!
