Meet the actual photographer?
OK, one more and then no more questions for at least 10 minutes!
Based on all the recommendations for photographers we got, we're going to look into Lighthouse Photography and TimExposures. I've heard that it's really important to meet the actual photographer before you book, to make sure you click with them. When I called Lighthouse, it sounds like we would first meet with the owner, but wouldn't necessarily get to meet the actual photographer until after we'd been assigned someone.
What do you think? If you went with a photography studio that had multiple photographers, did you meet yours before the wedding? Or did you trust that if you liked the studio, you'd like the photographer?
Over and out. I'll leave you with a gratuitous bonnet emoticon, because I've never seen one like this before:
(Oh. A baby. That makes more sense than the Little House on the Prairie-type bonnet I was envisioning.)Thanks everyone, as always!

Meet the actual photographer? - Long Island Weddings
We met with the owner and he showed us different albums and styles of photography. Based upon their work is how he is going to assign us a photographer. And we are going to try and make schedules work to have our photographer do our engagement photos.

we did the same. going to try to make an appointment to meet with the two we narrowed it down to to make a final decision bc we aren't doing engagement pics.

We met with our actual photographer beforebooking. That was important to us because we have a short window for pictures before our wedding and wanted to make sure we go along well. One thing to consider would be family dynamics. If things are strained between parents because of divorce or something like that you may want to make sure your photographer has the right personality to deal with anything like that. Follow your gut.

We met with our photographer as well, just to see if our personalities will click. My FH is very reserved, so I needed someone who was high energy and could get him to come out of his shell for pics. Keep in mind when looking at the studio portfolios, make sure you ask who photographed what. A gf of mine hired a studio based on the portfolios shown to her, only to find out that the quality of the pics weren't the same. Apparently the photographer they gave her was not the one who took those pics, but another.

Hahaha about the emoticon! We met with our photographer to see if we liked his personality. He's really cool & calm which we loved. I would definitely recommend actually meeting the photographer before leaving a deposit. You can always go & see who's work you like & go back to meet him or her.

I'm booked with Lighthouse, and the owner, Florio, is also our photographer. I didn't meet with/stay for any appointments where we weren't meeting with the photographer we would actually be getting on our day. Florio is WONDERFUL, and also takes pride in his work as an artist AND as the owner of a company. I totally vote for Lighthouse!

im booked with jaylim, met with him (the owner) and booked him as our photographer. i think if i was booking with a different photographer through his company i might have wanted to meet with the specific one first.. not sure if it would have been a deal breaker, but definitely important to see the specific photographers work!Welcome New Vendors
