Meet vendor at Starbucks?

Do you think meeting a vendor at a Starbucks rather than an office or studio is sketchy?

Nope. I met with a videographer at Starbucks and we thought he was very professional and it was convenient for everyone. Not having an office is a good way to keep overhead low.

When I was in theatre we had interviews, meetings etc in starbucks, bars, etc.

Nope.

I met my photographer at a starbucks. My suggestions.

Lots of individual vendors who don't have 'retail' spaces meet at local coffee shops etc.
I'm totally OK with it as long as I've done tons of research on them beforehand and know they have glowing recommendations.

We met our photographer at a diner - she paid. We were happy. We could have met her at her 'studio' aka house, but it was too far for us and she was flexible.

We met our photographer and our videographer at local coffee shops -- it felt way more comfortable than having them come to my apartment. Met up with our DOC at starbucks too because it was most convenient for both of us (although our final meeting was at my mom's house).

I didn't think it was sketchy at all. It's really the way business is conducted now a days.

Not at all. Not having an official 'office' keeps them from having an overhead, and in turn, keeps cost down for you.

Some vendors do have offices but offer to meet at a more convenient location for their clients.

Not at all! i met my Videographer at starbucks and it was to my benefit. I didnt want to drive all the way out to his studio and i pressed for time that day. so he offered to meet in the middle where it would be better for me.

We met our photographer at a coffee shop and it was very comfortable and he was very professional. He had his portfolio,laptop,sample albums and contracts. So far he has been my favorite vendor that we have booked.

ive met with 2 vendors at a starbucks

honestly, i like it better-i get coffee and i feel like they are totally focused on me

even better-i had a vendor come to my house

It definitely doesn't mean that they are sketchy at all! I completely agree with the other ladies. I had one vendor suggest that we meet at a coffee shop, but, I ended up cancelling because FH couldn't make it.

I did meet with 2 other vendors who also did not have an official office space. Long story short, shop around and compare their cost with other vendors (those who have an official office and those that don't). Some vendors were more reasonable than others. Two vendors who worked primarily out of their home ended up giving me a high quote compared to others that had an official office space. However, it doesn't mean they were sketchy. Personally, I just thought that they really shouldn't be charging as much when they have no office expenses to maintain.

I did book one vendor w/ no office space. The price was reasonable and I felt extremely comfortable and happy. Otherwise, I would not have booked. I suggest meeting with this person and see what vibe you get. Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life. You should be able to feel secure and comfortable that every vendor you book is able to execute the job properly.
