Re: MEETING W/ THE PRIEST

Ours was super simple.
First he needed to take down all our basic info and a little more. Like name, address, phone#,birthday etc. He also needed to know parents names, address, and if they are catholic and still married. BUT the interesting thing is he ask us for EACH OTHERS info i guess to see how well we know each other.

Then he seperated us and asked us simple yes and no questions that you really cant fail!

No Worries!!!

He asked us some basic questions first for a 'pre-marital interview'. Names, addresses, parents info, where you baptized, confirmed, etc.

Then he separated us and asked us questions individually, like are we related, are we getting married cuz we are pregnant, any mental or physical reason that would prevent us from getting married or having kids.

And he basically just explained how serious the sacrament is, and made sure we understood what it meant.

The thing that got me was he made us feel so guilty about not going to church every weekend - they ask you how often you attend. But both me and FH work weekends, so we can't really go, but he said its our obligation blah blah blah, and I felt bad. Then he said he'll leave that spot blank on our questionarre for now, and next time he asks, he expects us to say every week.

Good luck with your meeting...don't panick, it's not that bad!

Yeah he just asks you for a lot of your information and then this long list of questions you have to say yes or no and its clearly right and wrong answers. Also be careful if you are 'cohabitators' because I told my FH I wasn't going to lie, and so when FH gave his address and then I gave mine I put the same and he goes, 'oh cohabitation' and then explained we will have special part of our FOCCUS test and possible pre-cana because of that. Oh well! I'm not lying to a priest, I think that'd be worse than cohabitation.

I know...that's what I told FH, and he yelled at me and said we can't lie to a priest. I told him him he doesn't have to lie, but I am next time.

Re: MEETING W/ THE PRIEST

It's not so bad.....just ask some questions like have you been married before? any children? are you getting married by choice? Those kind of questions were what our priest asked us.

Don't worry I was nervous at first to.

Good luck!

Re: MEETING W/ THE PRIEST

I was nervous too even though I knew my Priest....

When we got there he handed us a paper and separated us. When were were done we brought it to him.

It wasn't bad at all. They ask you to fill out a questionaire with questions like.. Do you to want children, have you been married before, is their anything holding you back from getting married (meaning are you a nun or preist)... things like that. You need to know where you were born, which church you were baptized in, and where you received communion and confirmation. They also want to know if both of you are Catholic. Most importantly, they need both of your signatures. They are supposed to do this before they give you a wedding date.

Then he will ask questions like, how long have you two been together, where did you meet, who is your maid of honor/best man, What hobbies do you have in common.. things like that. Then he talks about pre cana and asks if you have any questions

Good luck!! Let us know how it goes...
FM me if you have any questions
