Meeting wedding hall minimum??!!

I am getting married at Carlyle on the Green next month and b/c we have so many out of town guest, it doesn't look like we are going to meet the 200pp minimum...

Has this happened to anyone else? does anyone have any suggestions on how I can negotiate to not pay for empty place settings!!??

Please help, I am getting very nervous and don't want to just throw money away at this point!!

most rh's wont give you your money back, instead they will throw things in for free. Such as one of their extra's or a few extra's

for one friend she had about 20 people below minimum and they said they'll only charge for half but couldnt do it for all 20. But like i said, most just will throw things in for free

there's no back-ups? I know that for me I was worried about the same thing (however, now i'm worried about being OVER my limit) But I have a list of last minute invites, just in case. Like old friends I'd like to have there, but I don't really see too much anymore. And a couple of acquaintances that I would have invited if I had more money. People like that. It's better to just fill up that minimum, since you can't get your money back anyway.

Wow 200 minimum... and I'm worried about my 100 minimum.

I think most places make you pay for your entire minimum, but I've heard of some places throwing in extras since you are paying anyways.
I'm 10 people below my minimum, but I haven't spoken to my RH about it yet, so I don't know if I'll be getting any extras just yet.

Talk to your RH about this. A girlfriend of mine had to have a minimum of 200. She could only promise 180 so she spoke with them and she still paid for 200 but they ended up throwing in alot of free stuff to her cocktail and dessert hour.
