If you plan on writing your own vows or doing something out of tradition let them know. They have great suggestions and know best. GL

Re: Meeting with Officiant.. Help
I was nervous too when I met mines but that's because my FH is Catholic and I am Baptist so I thought I'd have to convert or promise to raise the kids Catholic but it was not like that at all. Basically all we have to take are Pre Cana and I was so thankful for that. But back to you, if you are getting married at the hall and do not have to worry about all the other stuff ask him how he would run a ceremony and what you are aloud to incorporate such as personal vows or candle lighting, music. Also, will your girls actually stand next to you or sit. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that I get to sit because I suck in heels but promised my FH i'd were them on that day. My girls will be sitting to rather than standing.

Re: Meeting with Officiant.. Help
Some things to discuss: 1) Where will parents stand 2) Where will bride and groom stand (on the officiants left or right, etc) 3) Where will Bridal Party be? 4) How many people in the bridal party 5) How much religion you want to involve? 6) Which wedding traditions do you want to include: ie. Stepping on the glass for a jewish wedding or a candle or sand or wine ceremony... 7) Can the officiant help you get the Marriage license 8) Do you want any part of the ceremony to be an 'in-memory' portion where you honor lost loved ones? 9) Should the officiant expect any of your friends or family members to sing during the ceremony or do a reading
HTH!

Re: Meeting with Officiant.. Help
thanks for that list!
we are meeting with rev donald doctor from abeautifulaffairoftheheart.com
they are a vendor here.
they sent us a huge outline of what kind of things can be used in the ceremony so my FH and i went through and tweaked it to customize it to what we want so that part should be easy

Didn't you just love that question???? For a minute I was almost going to say 'are you kidding me?' then I realized the priest was serious!
