meeting with photographers tomorrow

can you guys give me some advice on what to ask and make sure I get for my wedding? any suggestions and advice would be great

If you look on the www.blissweddings.com site there is a whole question list to ask each vendor. Might give you a good start. You want to make sure who would be the photographer that day for your wedding and request to see their work. Ask if they bring a lighting assistant and if that is extra. Ask about getting the proofs and see if there is an extra charge for that too. Also ask what his approach is. Photojournalistic style or more posed style. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

I've also seen it suggested that you ask to see a COMPLETE proof book that is waiting to be picked up, so you get a sense of all the shots, good and bad, as opposed to only looking at the albums showing the best of the best. We also negotiated changes to our package, swapping 11 x 14 enlargments and small Thank You photos for extra 5 x 7 prints. We plan to buy our negatives, but just negotiated the price and had the option to purchase put in the contract - that way we were not obligated if we ended up hating the photos and it also allowed us to delay that payment, rather than making it up front. So don't feel you have to stick to the package.

make sure they do their own developing and don't send it out to a third party to be done.

Make sure you get ALL of your proofs! See a finished album as well as a full set of proofs.

Don`t sign until you have negotiated everything

Do your dealing first. And see if the photographer you are going to see has any discounts online or through your reception hall. I got $300.00 taken off for a coupon I had (just don`t mention it until after they give you the final price and add in all the extras). Also ask for the negatives, proofs, and bridal party 5x7s for free. Get your photographers name on the contract and the times. Good luck
