We have our initial meeting with the priest tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous. Can anyone tell me what we should expect? Thanks!

I was really nervous about it too but mine was really easy. He asked a few things about having children, etc but nothing about sex or living together or anything like that. It was really easy and it was mainly just about booking the date and giving the deposit. I guess all of the hard work will be during pre cana. FYI we are catholic.

Me too. And we actually met our priest after pre-cana, so we were all prepared with lots to say from it, lol, and our priest was really great. No personal questions like that, just stuff about each other, are we going into this freely, etc. It was actually fun!

why is it that we all walk into the meeting with the priest with the same nervousness as a job interview I was TOTALLY like that... I was worried he would give FH and I @#$@# for living together for years prior to getting married. didn't happen..... however, they did ask several odd questions about prior marriages despite us both stating this is our first time.... I also vaguely recall awful questions about diseases, too....

our meeting with our priest was very easy and simple. i've known our priest for more than a decade (i used to work at our rectory as a receptionist in hs) so it was more nervousness for FH than for me. But it was mostly going over what we needed to do to get married (do the investigation, do pre-cana, contact the music people, etc). we got some stuff to read (little booklet about getting married at our parish, the pastoral letter that Bishop McGann wrote years ago on marriage and something else which i can't remember). it was very easy. don't worry! it will be over before you know it!
