Am I supposed to contact them or will they contact me to set an appointment to go over menu, timing, etc.

How far in advance is this done?

I would give them a call and set up an appointment for June to go over everything.

My hall just called me yesterday about our final meetings. I would call them and ask how they handle it.

If I'm not mistaken ur banquet manager will contact you- however u can always give ur him/her a call and ask them when this is done.

We got a 45 day notice in the mail from the hall. 45 days before the wedding we have to go down there and pay 1/2 of the total balance. It could be different with each hall, how the payment schedule is. At that time we will be going over menu, cake, linens etc....
It doesn't hurt to call anyway and ask, or just make the appointment now.

Definetly check with them about when final payment is due (unless you know this already). I would say that you will probably meet with them about 1 month before the wedding.

But my mother looks like this ' I have to call the hall and see if it is time yet!!'
