I am getting married in PA in a greek orthodox church (FH is greek) and his priest from up here in NY is coming to marry us, but since we are getting married at a different church we had to meet that priest also. Soooo...we went this Saturday and it went very very well! I was a little nervous because I heard this priest was very hard core and very 'greek' and my feelings were not put to rest when I first saw him....He had a long white beard and wore a long black 'dress' of sorts and a tall black hat! I was like oh no! there is no way he's going to do what I want. But i was totally wrong! He said we could add vows prior to the cereomony, he said we can have 'you may Kiss the bride' and that the service can be done all in american! To most this wont' seem like a big deal but in the greek orthodox religion you don't know what you will get. They coudl say no! But i was so happy and he was such a nice man. In the end I am happy he will be doing the ceremony also. Sooo WOOO HOOO!!

congrats! I'm glad it went well. WE're going on Wednesday to meet wiht our RC priest. Hopefully it will go well also! We live together and thats a big no no in the RC church - hopefully they wont ask so we wont have to lie

I was a bit nervous also, we had to sign this affidavit thing and it asked for our addresses and since we live together we put the same one...i was worried but nothing was mentioned! thank goodness!

Aww that's great! Good for you!! Priests are actually very educated people and they realize we live in a modern world.
