are you supposed to meet with all of your vendors before the big day..a bunch told me it wasn't necessary..but it doesn't sound right..help!!!!

The only one I met with in person was the florist, about a month before just to finalize. The others I just spoke with on the phone a week or two before.

ok that makes me feel better..thats the only vendor I'm meeting with also..the rest told me to contact them by phone and email

i spoke with most over the phone except the DJ. we just finalized timing with them all & other final details.

I have met with the Florist and the DJ. I will also meet with the DOC in person. All others we have chatted over the phone.

We met with everyone, I wish it could have been over the phone since I had finals and the holidays lol ... But we had to finalize the BP names, and all the songs for the DJ, they also had to give us a CD for the ceremony for our DOC to use ... I had to drop off times and directions for the photographers... I thought it was weird that DH said he would go to the florist himself to pay the balance, but I found out its because he wanted to send me flowers that morning .. and we also went over seating chart with the hall. Wow that was long sorry lol

I guess it really depends on your vendors. I filled out forms for the photographer, videographer, and band. I met with the florist to finalize and met with my DOC a month in advance.

I plan to meet in person with the photographer, videographer, florist, limos and dj/band just because there are a bunch of things I'd like to talk to them about, and it's easier to get things done in person...at least for me it is.

I second that! I'm totally a crazy person when it comes to music, so I must meet w/ our DJ a month before to make sure the music is just right and give him the intro list/play & do not play lists, etc. I don't know about the florist b/c I just booked that & we're only doing personal flowers, not CPs. Video I'll probably call / email to verify details and if necessary, set up another appt. We're meeting w/ our photographer sometime in Aug or Sept to do E-pics, and he's a family friend, so we'll prob discuss details then.

We met with the DJ to go over the playlist and our banquet manager to go over the menu. I would LOVE to meet with our florist, but she's so swamped with other brides that I'm getting the shaft. Kind of getting nervous about it too, since the mockup of my centerpiece she sent me looked like NOTHING I wanted! UGH Photographer & limo just over emails/phone.

Just banquet manager. Spoke to florist, band, photo, over the phone, makeup & hair by email (thanks Stacy!) I was planning from LA, so what was I going to do? Everything was perfect.
