Where are you going on the Almalfi Coast? We are going there for 5 days during our HM. We will be staying in Ravello at Palazzo Sasso, and will probably hop around while we are there. Do you have any suggestions?

I am staying at the Palazzo Sasso too! It looks incredible (have you seen their website?). We are staying at the San Pietro in Positano for 4 nights (which came highly recommended but it's expensive), then Capri in the Grand Quisana (sp?) for 3 nights and then the Palazzo Sasso for 3 nights (which also came highly recommended). Then it is off to Rome for two nights but I can't remember the name of the hotel (its at the top of the Spanish Steps). Ravello is not right on the water (it is up on a mountain) so you probably can't hang out on the beach there. There are supposed to be beautiful gardens in Ravello though. I would definitely try to see Positano while you're there. Maybe you could try to go on an excursion to at least one of the islands while you're there too. Capri is pretty popular and crowded most of the time but beautiful. I've heard the isle of Ischia is gorgeous and very quiet and secluded. I did SOOO much research on the Amalfi coast - What really helps a lot with ideas of what to do is the Fodors Amalfi Coast book (not the Italy one - that one doesn't have specifics about the Amalfi coast). I have so much information at home that I just can't think of off the top of my head. If you have any more questions, feel free to email me - [email protected]. Hope this helps - Good luck!

Yes, I have checked out their site (many, many times ). We are going to Sardinia first, then Capri, and our 3rd stop will be Palazzo Sasso. We tried to stay at the Grand Quisana, but they were already booked (we are going in August, so it's prime season). We ended up booking at the Caesar Augustus in Capri. There are so many beautiful places, it was so hard to pick where to go! We will end our trip in a small vineyard town where my fiance's family is from (his father's whole family is still there). When in Ravello, we plan on relaxing by the pool,we will get our 'beach fix'in Sardinia. They have the most beautiful beaches and where we are staying (Costa Smeralda) the water is so blue! I know a few people who have been to Ischia, and they say it is spectacular. I too have done a bit of reading and research, thank goodness for the internet! However, I have not checked out the Fodors Almalfi. Thanks for the tip. I will have to let you know about good spots to go when I get back from our HM (8/22). In the meantime, if you can think of anything else, let me know.
Continued success to all...
