Doing chocolate favors and need to purchase melting chocolate in bulk. Does anyone know of a website or a store that isn't expensive?
TIA

Re: Melting Chocolate?
I made chocolate lollipops for my e-party. I bought all my supplies from the Chocolate Duck. They have everything you are looking for and more! Some consider them a little pricey but it is delicious chocolate with knowledgeable and nice sales people.

Re: Melting Chocolate?
Chocolate by Design in Ronkonkoma has 5 lb bags. If it is for favors you dont want to use the packages from craft stores because their turnover rate isnt as great. It also tends to be more waxy. FM if you need any more info.

That place was AMAZING! Growing up, my mother and I would go there all the time to do different projects. She has said multiple times since my engagement that she regrets that place closed cause we could have done so many amazing things.

I use the chocolate from michaels or ac moore. There are chocolate stores that sell them too and usually with a wider variety of colors.

Re: Melting Chocolate?
as someone who makes her own peanut butter cups, marshmallow cups and marshmallow mint cups, i'd have to recommend the chocolate duck. and go with the cheap stuff they have, its actually the best quality that i've found so far. HTH date twin!

Re: Melting Chocolate?
I found Michaels and Ac Moore over priced.... try Grandma's Candy Kitchen in Wantagh... very reasonable and you get more for your $$

Thanks date twin I mentioned making peanut butter cups and FHs eyes lit up. Sounds like we'll be hitting the chocolate duck and the ronkonkoma store next weekend to check it out. Love the fact that now when I mention doing stuff he doesn't give me an odd expression and say 'Really? It's 2 years away!' Now he just gives me a kiss on the forehead, smiles and off we go.
