Do you have to cook your own meat in oil after they bring it to you? I have only been to 1 other fondue place and they make you cook your own meats in this oil. The sight of raw meat really turns me off (I wont even cook it..only seafood) I was just wondering if Melting Pot does this too. I kinda hated messing around with the oil!

just get the veggie meal if you dont like the idea of cooking meat. thats what we got.. i wasn't a big fan of it there. maybe thats because i wasn't feeling good and i felt it was over priced. but don't get me wrong.. it was good.. just not as good as my friend made them out to be.

they have different cooking styles, so its not all oil. we usually get a broth to cook the meat.

its not that bad, FH would never go with me. I told him you cook ur own food and he was like, no way.
lol. ive only done the dinner part twice, the cheese & chocolate is where its at!!!

whenever FH and I go, we just get the cheese fondue, salad, and chocolate fondue ... no meat (but it's PLENTY of food)

yes... the main course is brought out raw and you get a pot of broth or oil to cook it in (whichever you choose). I know it sounds strange, but its kinda fun! They give you like 10 dipping sauces to use after its cooked and coach you on how long to leave everything in. its all cut in to bite size pieces so it cookd fast. honestly i could make a meal just out of the cheese appetizer fondue and chocolate fondue dessert!

EVERYTHING is raw. Even items under entree.
I do agree it is WAY overpriced.
It's the same as hot pot and hot pot is WAY cheaper and more food.

FH and I go to Simply Fondue in Great Neck, very similar to Melting Pot. We love it there! At first I was iffy about cooking the food, but we actually have a lot of fun with it.

Yes you do FH isnt a fan of going to a restaurant where you have to cook your own food. We always just go for apps and dessert.
