Does anyone have experience to share with the Hilton or Marriott in Melville? We have appts to look at both in a couple weeks and both have availability for our date. I'd really appreciate your input!
We have asked for:
Friday night: Suite for groom and 3 guest rooms.
Sat night: Bridal suite, 35-40 guest rooms, shuttle service, bar to stay open late.
Sun: Brunch.
I'd love to hear good/bad feedback on either hotel.
Thanks!

Re: Melville Hotels
i used the Hilton on 110. i had a suite that i got ready in and blocked rooms off for my guests. i LOVED the hotel. was able to get some pictures in the lobby before hand and the staff was BEYOND accomodating.
i didn't do a brunch the next day, but they were really great.

Re: Melville Hotels
I recently made my block at the Melville Marriott for 109 a night, no shuttle included but you can purchase one from them....we also got a quote of 119 per night from the Marriott in Farmingdale by the Airport Plaza and that comes with a bus after 10 rooms, we didn't go with them for two reasons, 1. our guests said they prefer to save 10 dollars and drive their own cars and 2. the asst. manager we dealt with was soooo difficult
Lastly, we got a quote of 125 from Hunting Hilton

Re: Melville Hotels
we blocked rooms at the hilton garden inn across from 4points. We also looked at 4 points and the Huntington Hilton but found this to be the nicest and the price p/room was comparable to huntington hilton but the bridal suite is much cheaper here.
We blocked off 10 rooms - $119 each 1 bridal suite - $155 Shuttle to and From Carlyle all night - $250 + 20% tip Bfast next morning $12.95 p/person. Addition $50 to have it in the private room. Hotel Bar open till 2.

Re: Melville Hotels
We stayed at the Melville Marriott and it was great for us and all our many OOT guests! The hotel itself is just lovely (we did tons of pictures there, actually, before the wedding) and they cut us a great deal (it was $119 / room for our guests, and our suite was the same price, then they comped us the second night -- so we saved over $300 there alone). We also did our RD at the Melville Marriott. We had so many OOT people (including the entire Wedding Party other than my brother) that it was just so much better and easier that way.
Irene was great to work with and the people were wonderful there to us.
If you have any specific questions, let me know.
ETA: We didn't use their bar, but BYOB to the lobby after the wedding (my MOH's idea). We stayed up for hours talking and playing games in the lobby right under the beautiful elevators. (they have these light-up glass elevators) -- it was really fun.
There's no shuttle, but I arranged a limo bus and limos for all of us on the wedding day for $1k separately.
The sunday brunch was great but it's separate, price-wise. The food was very good though.
