Hi all! Just joined tonight. Has anyone attended a wedding reception at the Melville Marriott?

Hi Swag. Thanks. I read your post about your dress. I hope everything goes well on Thursday. If you don't get it by then, I would definitely get money back. You'll have enough time to get a new dress somewhere else. I heard RK Bridal in NYC can get a dress quick and service good. Good Luck.

Hello and welcome!
I've never been to a wedding there, but I've been to 3 Fire Department Installation Dinners, which are VERY fancy affairs. Of course this was about 5 years ago, but the place is very pretty!! And I remember the cocktail hour being very very good! I'm sorry I don't remember what the dinners were like...

Re: Melville Marriott
I booked my reception at Melville and now I am getting a little anxious because not too many brides picked hotels for their receptions. I picked hotel because it was easier for me and many of my guests and because hotel was nice. Should I have picked a catering hall?

Re: Melville Marriott
If your heart was set on a hotel, then you made the right choice!! There is no rule stating that you HAVE to HAVE a wedding at a catering hall... I personally think that a wedding at a hotel is very nice! And like I said, I've never been to a wedding there, but the parties I have attended were very good! Don't feel discouraged, it was apparantly in your mind all along...
OH and the Marriot in Melville is VERY nice!!! It's set off behind 110 so it's nice and hidden too!!
If you feel you might change your mind, there is no harm looking at some halls, if that'll make you feel better! Good luck!

Re: Melville Marriott
I have never been do that hotel -sorry! I do think having a hotel wedding is a great idea, esp if you have out of town guests. That is what i wanted to do but I couldn't find anywhere that i liked/was avaible or could hold enough people close to my church.
