I'm trying to figure out exactly when to send the invitations. I know that if the wedding's over a holiday, send them 8 weeks in advance, but is Memorial Day weekend a 'holiday'-holiday? Do people really book vacations and whatnot that far in advance? I just sit on the patio and fire up the grill.
I thought that 8-week rule referred to a holiday like Christmas or Thanksgiving, where people do make extensive plans, but now I'm not sure.
When do you guys plan to send your invitations?

I will probably send mine out the First week in March. ETA: My FI and I have quite a few out of towners we would like to give them so extra time. Usually its 8-12 weeks before from my understanding.

I'm planning to send mine out mid march. I'm planning to have my RSVP April 27th or thereabouts.
I would still consider it a holiday because A LOT of people go away memorial day weekend.

I am sending mine out early February, but that's because I'm having a DW. For those here, I agree with Mid-March.

We sent ours out the week of March 13, if I remember correctly, and I think our RSVP was April 20th.... I dont' remember exactly, but definitely around those times!

I was thinking the beginning of February with a RSVP date of April 15th I have a lot of OOT guests is that too early?

i would definitely consider memorial day weekend a holiday...ppl do go away or make local plans...better safe than sorry!

mmm i was thinking beginning of february w/ a mid march rsvp which is early b/c most of our guests need to book international flights from asia....
