Where did you put your memory candle if you had one?
I was thinking of making one myself with a nice quote and ribbon, what would you suggest, printing on a clear label and then sticking it on the candle?
anyone know what vallum paper is and how it works?

Memory Candle Questions & Help
I didn't do a memorial candle. Do you have a table that you are putting pictures on and maybe you can place it there? I would use the vellum paper. It's super easy. Just create the design on your computer then print it on 8 1/2 X 11 vellum paper. You can tape it or glue it.

Re: Memory Candle Questions & Help
We're doing 2 candles for FH's father and stepfather. I got the holder and candle at A.C. moore and purchased a few sheets of 8.5.X 11 vellum paper at Michaels. I read somewhere that you can used Modge Podge to affix the photos to the candle, but I haven't tried that yet. They're not completely assembled, or I would post a pic, but they came out nice and was super easy. We're going to put them at the escort card table, along with the guest book. During the reception we will either put them at our table or maybe with the card box. Good luck!

Instead of putting the words on a candle, I wrote a poem and then put my relatives names on the bottom of it, and framed it in a nice frame. I put that frame in the middle, with he photos of the relatives next to it, and a candle (flameless) in the middle.

I went to Michael's this weekend to look at the vellum paper. There were a lot of different kinds and different thicknesses. I've never done DIY for anything before, but the thought of making the memorial candle myself seems nicer than buying one on etsy. So, if and when I find a good tutorial, I'll let you know. I'm the opposite of crafty and need instructions! Lol

Memory Candle Questions & Help
I have a glass hurricane that we had etched with a poem & our family members that have passed's names listed. We will put a battery operated candle inside it and put it on it's own little table with tea candles around it.

That's a really nice idea! Would you post a pic of that after your wedding so we can see? Etching glass sounds a little scary (in my clumsy hands) so I'd probably take it to Things Remembered or somewhere like that and ask them to do it for me.

You can always fake etch. You buy frosted glass spray paint. Tape off the design/attach the stencil securely to the glass and spray! After it drys the stencil can be peeled back and the design will be regular clear glass the rest will be frosted!
