Has anyone done a Memory Candle or something of the sort? How does it work, how do you fit it into your ceremony. Both my father and FH brother are deseased and we would like to honor them in some way the day of our wedding.

Re: Memory Candles, etc.
DH's Grandfather passed away two days before our wedding.. so to honor him I made a memory candle and had it lit all night at the reception hall.
Behind were we sat was a fireplace, so we had the candle placed on top and made sure it was right behind DH.

i made a DIY memory candle for my dad (check out my review for how i did it if youd like) and just displayed it at the RH.
but there are plenty of other ways to honor ppl who have passed away as well- bo-k charm, poem or mention in the program, mention during ceremony, etc.

i'm having a memory candle lit for my father during the ceremony. the officiant knows how to work it in. then it will be placed on a table near us during the reception, next to pictures of our parents and a picture of me and my dad. I'm also using a bo-k charm.
i decided not to make an actual 'memory candle.' I'm just planning on getting a nice pillar candle and placing it inside a vase. i might put a nice bow around the vase or get a fancier looking candle. i'm also placing a memory poem near the candle as well.

I had my memory candle placed on a table behind us during the ceremony, and then it was displayed on a table near us during the reception. I also listed the names of the loved ones we lost in our programs. We didn't have the priest mention the memory candle during the ceremony, we just had it there for us.
I love the idea of the candle with pictures surrounding. I def. want to make my father a special part of my day when the time comes. I'm so sorry other people are dealing with the same situation.. it seems to feel like I'm the only one.

I made a memory candle with a poem on it. During the ceremony the Pastor will read the poem and there will be a brief moment of silence to honor those loved and lost.
